KC940 is the black sister tile to our Sage Green KC941 — a genuine Spanish-made tile (not the Chinese copy) featuring a unique Layer Tech finish that layers gloss and matt textures on the one tile surface. Frequently Asked Questions About our Black Gloss & Matt Star Pattern Tiles

Where can I buy Black Gloss & Matt Star Pattern tiles in Sydney?

Kalafrana Ceramics is a specialist supplier of Spanish ceramic pattern tiles in Sydney, based at our showroom in Leichhardt, NSW. We stock this vintage Star Pattern tile in the Black Gloss & Matt tech finish (KC940), as well as Sage Green Gloss & Matt, Charcoal, Sage Green and Blue.

Is this Star Pattern tile available in other colours or finishes?

Yes. This vintage Star Pattern is available in five colourways: Black Gloss & Matt tech finish (KC940), Sage Green Gloss & Matt tech finish (KC941), Charcoal (KC861), Sage Green (KC862) and Blue Matt Finish (KC863). All five share the same 225mm x 225mm nominal, 450mm scored tile format.

What makes the Gloss & Matt tech finish on KC940 different?

KC940 uses a layered tech finish that combines both gloss and matt textures on the one tile surface. The black stars catch the light with a glossy, textured sheen against the soft matt off-white base, adding extra depth and dimension to the vintage star pattern compared to the standard satin finish.

What makes KC940 an authentic vintage Star Pattern design?

KC940's black and white star pattern is printed across 40 different variations, so the aged patina doesn't repeat from tile to tile — the detail that gives it the look of a genuine reclaimed vintage floor tile.

Can KC940 be used outdoors?

Yes. KC940 carries an R10 slip rating, making it suitable for covered outdoor areas in addition to indoor floors and walls.

Is KC940 suitable for both floors and walls?

Yes. KC940 is a fired ceramic tile suitable for indoor floors, walls and kitchens.

Does KC940 require sealing?

No. This Spanish ceramic pattern tile does not require sealing or ongoing maintenance, making it a practical alternative to natural stone or handmade encaustic tiles.

What does "225mm x 225mm nominal, 450mm scored tile format" mean?

Each tile is manufactured as a single 450mm tile that is pre-scored to give the visual appearance of four individual 225mm x 225mm pattern tiles once laid, simplifying installation while keeping the traditional patterned look.

What size is KC940 and how do I get a price?

KC940 is a ceramic tile with a nominal individual pattern size of 225mm x 225mm on a 450mm scored tile, supplied in boxes of 5 pieces, covering 1 square metre per box. Use the Price on Request button or contact our Leichhardt showroom for pricing. Delivery is available and is quoted based on your delivery area, the quantity ordered and pallet size.

Where can I see Star Pattern tiles in person?
